We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
Communication is crucial at St Margaret Mary’s Catholic Primary School Randwick North and we keep parents updated about learning, procedures and protocols.
We communicate through the Compass app, which is a place for parents to receive regular updates, photo snapshots of learning, term curriculum notes, parent information sessions, school reports, newsletters and notes.
Parents are welcome to visit office staff if they require assistance to upload the Compass app on their device.
We are incredibly fortunate to have a community that is always willing to lend a hand during a number of other activities that could not run without the generosity of volunteers. We have a Parents and Friends Association (P&F) to strengthen the partnership between family, school, parish and the wider community for the benefit of students’ development and learning. The P&F meets each term to discuss school-related matters as well as plans for future social activities and fundraising. The group is empowered to coordinate activities in consultation with school leadership that focus on:
- welcoming
- parent education
- uniform
- faith development/spirituality of parents
- fundraising.
The group shares their news via the school newsletter during the year.
The principal’s advisory council is composed of a number of parents, as well as our priest and principal. The sense of belonging is evident within our school community with each grade having class parents who organise school and social events.
